Update policy

SysDev Laboratories distributes upgrades and updates for the UFS Explorer software using two main mechanisms:

Major software releases entail significant functional extensions and large-scale changes to the software, and are designated by the number to the left of the decimal point in the version of the product, for example, "UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 10.0".

Minor software releases involve revisions, error corrections and smaller enhancements to the software, and are designated by means of a change in the number to the right of the decimal point in the version of the product, for example, "UFS Explorer RAID Recovery 10.1".

Licensed customers may stay current with updates and upgrades to the UFS Explorer software products in accordance with the following guidelines:

Free updates

UFS Explorer of version 7 and up to version 10 can be updated free of charge during the updates period of 360 days from the day of the purchase with no restrictions in respect to minor or major software releases.

For example, "UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 9.16 for Windows" can be updated to " UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 10.0 for Windows".

Upgrade to UFS Explorer version 10

The owners of licenses for UFS Explorer version 7 and later with an expired updates period can upgrade their software to UFS Explorer version 10 with a discount of up to 50% of the previous license cost. The upgrade is possible when:

  • the edition of the newer software corresponds to the edition of the older software;
  • the newer software runs on the same operating system as the older version.

For example, "UFS Explorer RAID Recovery version 9 (for macOS)" can be upgraded to "UFS Explorer RAID Recovery version 10 (for macOS)".

The owners of licenses for UFS Explorer, Recovery Explorer and Raise Data Recovery may perform an upgrade to a more advanced UFS Explorer product at a discounted price. The size of the discount depends on the cost of the previous license and the time of its purchase:

  • If the license was purchased less than 30 days ago, the discount equals the price for the purchased product license.
  • If the license was purchased less than 6 months ago, the discount equals 85% of the price for the purchased product license.
  • If the license was purchased less than 9 months ago, the discount equals 75% of the price for the purchased product license.
  • If the license was purchased less than 12 months ago, the discount equals 65% of the price for the purchased product license.
  • If the license was purchased more than a year ago, the discount equals 50% of the price for the purchased product license.

Upgrade to UFS Explorer version 8

For example, "UFS Explorer RAID Recovery version 10 (for Linux)" can be upgraded to "UFS Explorer Professional Recovery version 10 (for Linux") or "Recovery Explorer Standard version 10 (for Linux)" can be upgraded to "UFS Explorer Standard Recovery version 10 (for Linux)".

The upgrade is available upon request.

Upgrades for legacy software
